The recent drop in temperature means the fall semester is coming to a close and Christmas Spirit Week is upon us.

According to Senior Alex Rosellini, who is the executive spirit officer for SGA, the theme of the week is “All I want for Christmas is.”

“The senior class officers came up with the theme for the week,”  director of student activities Brenda Beers said. Some of the other options for themes included “All Aboard the Polar Express” and “Welcome to the North Pole,” she said.

Each day of the week is also accompanied by a themed break activity. Rosellini said students can expect cookie decorating on Friday and free hot chocolate on Tuesday at break.

The week starts with Monday’s theme “All I want for Christmas is to get into college.” On this day, students can wear college shirts and sweatshirts with jeans.

Tuesday takes a chilly turn with the theme “All I want for Christmas is snow.” On this day, students are encouraged to bundle up in their best winter clothes including sweatpants, boots, snow hats and scarves.

Wednesday’s theme is “All I want for Christmas is a candy cane.” During the school day, students may wear red and white shirts.

“Wednesday night is movie night, with Waffle Love and Dutch Bros,” Rosellini said. There is also a girls’ soccer game at home on Wednesday night. Students are encouraged to attend the game and then make their way over to movie night. According to Rosellini, the featured movie is Home Alone.

NDP gets cozy on Thursday for the theme “All I want for Christmas is a sweater.” Students are encouraged to wear their tackiest, ugliest Christmas sweater on Thursday as well as any Christmas accessories.

The week closes on Friday with a theme that is close to the hearts of many NDP students: “All I want for Christmas is sleep.” On this day, students may wear their best pajamas and slippers or boots.

According to senior class co-president Kiley Nelson, they try to choose a versatile theme that will encourage everyone to dress up.
