NDP was literally lit on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Around 7:05 a.m., the engine of one of the school’s white buses erupted into flames.

According to Principal, Jerry Zander, the school security guard spotted the smoke first and contacted emergencies services.

Staff at NDP used four extinguishers to start to douse the flames before the fire department arrived and put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed that it had something to do with the battery because a similar incident happened last year with a school golf cart. The bus will be  removed off campus after it has been reviewed by the school’s insurance company.
