A spellbinding film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them brings back the magic of the Wizarding World.

Released Nov. 18, Fantastic Beasts is J.K. Rowling’s screenplay that provides the background of the origins of one of Harry Potter’s school textbooks titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Fantastic Beasts has earned a 7.8/10 rating on IMDb and has grossed more than $607.5 million since its release date.

“It’s a magical movie and it’s a continuation of my childhood and it’s fulfilling of the magical world” said senior Alyssa Williams.

Set in the 1920s, Fantastic Beasts follows Newt Scamander, a kicked-out Hogwarts, and his adventure in New York where he encounters other wizards, witches, muggles (aka nomads in America) and even an anti-witch association.

Williams said, “The whole movie was filled with excitement and suspense.”

The movie provides the audience with a puzzle-like plot, allowing the people to try to figure out the mystery behind the magic.

Junior Ben Neminvant said, “It was interesting. I didn’t really know what was going on, but i wanted to figure it out, so I kept questioning what was happening.”

Both Williams and Neminvant had prior Harry Potter knowledge from watching the movies. They left the movie feeling it had exceeded their expectations.

Yet, Williams said, “You don’t need to see Harry Potter to see this movie.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is not the only pre-Harry Potter wizarding world movie that will be made. There is an expected four more movies to be made concerning the same characters in this movie.

Rowling  is expected to continue to write the screenplays of the following sequels.
